The BioEnzymes Range

Two products, one complete drain care workflow

OPEN clears and shocks. MAINTAIN prevents. Together they keep your commercial kitchen drains flowing and your grease trap under control — biologically.

Side-by-Side

OPEN vs MAINTAIN at a glance

Both are supplied under the BioEnzymes label and sit at the heart of the EnTech360 drain care program. OPEN does the heavy lifting up front; MAINTAIN keeps things clear every day after.

OPEN

The opener & shock treatment

Role

A fast-acting biological drain opener. Use it to clear clogged, sluggish and blocked drains, and to shock-treat a grease trap before ongoing maintenance with MAINTAIN.

Appearance & strains

A clear, light-blue liquid carrying seven enzyme-producing bacterial strains. By-products are water and CO₂.

Additives

No acids or caustics, no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and no chlorinated solvents.

OPEN dosing — by drain diameter

Condition 2 cm drain 4 cm drain 8 cm drain
Blocked drain 250 ml 500 ml 1 L
Sluggish drain 125 ml 250 ml 500 ml
Drain odours 60 ml 125 ml 250 ml

Grease-trap shock: dose OPEN at 100 ml per litre of trap capacity, daily, until the trap runs clear — then start MAINTAIN.

MAINTAIN

The daily maintainer

Role

The ongoing product that keeps your drains and grease trap clear once OPEN has done its work. Dosed daily — manually or through an automatic dispenser — always upstream of the grease trap. Its job is prevention.

Appearance & strains

A turbid orange liquid with an “orange peel” odour, carrying seven enzyme-producing strains and roughly 100 billion microorganisms per gallon. pH is 7.0 ± 1.0.

Additives

Includes d-limonene (a citrus solvent) and uses bleach-, chlorine- and temperature-resistant strains engineered to survive real kitchen conditions.

MAINTAIN dosing

  • Establish biomass: 30 ml per litre of trap capacity
  • Daily maintenance: 30 ml per litre per day, always dosed upstream

Dosing rates for grease-trap, septic and biocycle systems by system size are available on request.

Safety & Handling

We keep this transparent

Here’s exactly how each product is classified — disclosed, not hidden.

MAINTAIN — non-hazardous

  • Classified non-hazardous and a non-dangerous good
  • No GHS hazard classification or signal word
  • Not transport-regulated

OPEN — handle with care

  • A hazardous chemical but a non-dangerous good
  • Carries a GHS eye-irritant classification (Category 2A) — avoid eye contact and wear suitable eye protection when dosing
  • Not flammable and not transport-regulated

Both products are biological, enzyme-based systems that replace hazardous caustics, acids and chlorinated solvents. They are Australian-made and supplied in Queensland, and all ingredients are listed on the Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances (AICS).

Always read the Safety Data Sheet before handling. Our technicians handle dosing and resupply as part of the program, so day-to-day handling stays off your team’s plate.

Common Questions

OPEN & MAINTAIN — your questions

Is OPEN safe to handle?

OPEN carries a GHS eye-irritant (Category 2A) classification, so it should be handled with care and in line with the safety data sheet. It is not a dangerous good and is not transport-regulated.

Is MAINTAIN hazardous?

MAINTAIN is classified as non-hazardous and a non-dangerous good, with no GHS hazard or signal word.

In what order are OPEN and MAINTAIN used?

OPEN is used first as a shock treatment to clear existing grease and fat build-up. Once the drain or grease trap runs clear, MAINTAIN is dosed daily on an ongoing basis to prevent future build-up.

Get Started

You need both — that’s the point

OPEN clears and shocks the system; MAINTAIN keeps it clear. As part of the program we sequence them for you, install the dosing unit and manage resupply — so you never have to think about it.
